December Newsletter 2019

Wishing you a lovely, relaxing Christmas holiday.

Last Classes are Monday December 23rd

I have been planning a special yin relaxation class which includes yoga massage. Choose your own special essential oil blend to use, practice Abyanga - self massage of the feet, hands and neck as you move through a series of postures to energise and relax you. Before melting into savasana you might like me to gentle adjust and work with marma points or yoga energy centres along the back of your spine and shoulders?

Next Class is Monday 13th January

Christmas Get Together

Is at my house on Saturday 7th December from 12 - 2 pm. Please bring a small plate along of something vegetarian.

Giving and Receiving

Thank You for coming along to my yoga classes. I enjoy them so much, for me it is a wish come true. To get to know you all, to use my creativity, my knowledge and tie together Western Science and Eastern Philosophy and teach (I hope) inspiring classes. I love Mondays.

Part of your yoga fees goes towards a monthly payment to the Smith Family to help Mariah who is 11 in January. This is for school clothes and help with learning so that she can have a bright future.

Instead of making New Years resolutions what about making New Moon wishes?

Making a wish is not childish if you start to plan how you can make it happen. It is a powerful practice and you can think about it or them every month using the New Moon as a reminder to look over your dreams for the future. Things can start gradually, making small changes monthly as you make plans, set goals and dream of the future. Instead of giving things up yearly or trying to and feeling guilty, what about adding new things monthly? It will be easy because it will make you happy.

I have a New Moon Diary, I love writing in it and I know exactly when the new moon is. Each New Moon I spend about an hour sitting quietly and looking over it. The new Moon in December is 26th...a great time to start.

What I have learnt is to cross things out! To slow down and let go of my drive, to keep achieving, wanting more. No more new yoga classes are planned. I wish to spend long weekends camping, walking and house boating. I need to sit back and appreciate what I

already have. It’s a huge learning curve which helps you focus on what you really want from life and that might be as simple as changing your perspective.

RETREAT AT HOME

Have you ever wished to go on a Yoga holiday?

What about making your home into the beautiful place you imagine? Start with the garden or a room.

Do you see yourself lazing around by the ocean or surrounded by nature. Your world is full of beautiful places from city parks, to secluded rainforests to your own garden. Find your special place, the closer to home the better.

You have your venue for the day!

What food would you like to eat at the retreat ? Look for some new vegetarian recipes, indulge in your favourite fruits, buy some new Herbal Teas to try. Don’t try to give things up, it is much easier to add to your life because it will make you happy.

It is probably best to start small and retreat for a day, maybe once a month. Or take some time off work and stay home.

Do you want to practice yoga, how often? Or would you prefer to meditate?

For the yoga retreats I ran at Patonga (This was one of my dreams and I loved running them but I didn’t like all the time spent on the computer with bookings.)

We had a Hatha Class on the morning before breakfast.

A restorative class before dinner and Yoga Nidra before bed.

Explore the internet for classes or even better start your own home practice and be guided by practicing the asana you enjoy.

If you need some help I have classes on DVD

I have my retreat series available on DVD with the 3 classes mentioned or USB for $60

Bird Song on my website www.learningcirclesyoga.com has vegetarian recipes.

I am going on Retreat this December.

I hope to swim in the ocean as often as I can.

I already have a daily yoga and meditation practice but I have found some wonderful meditations on You Tube by Meditative Mind. I like the chanting for the chakras. They have a 30 day meditation camp which I will start soon.

Retreat or treat yourself as often as you can

Have a lovely Christmas

Namaste Julie
