Ujjayi Pranayama Victorious
Breath or Ocean Breath

Ayurvedic Face and Neck Self Massage
Sit quietly in easy pose and contemplate how you have been feeling.
Busy, anxious, stressed and
unable to focus. Use the Vata Oil.
Irritable, hot and bothered and want to feel cool and calm. Use the Pitta Oil.
Feeling dull headed, blocked nose, unmotivated. Use the Kapha Oil.

BEFORE USING THE OILS CHECK FOR SENSITIVITY ON THE BACK OF THE HAND. AVOID THE EYES AND OTHER SENSITIVE AREAS OF THE BODY. THESE ARE POWERFUL COMBINATIONS.
YOU CAN USE PURE ORGANIC COCONUT OR SESAME OIL INSTEAD
Now find a comfortable
sitting position....I love to start my home practice with this massage. Engage your bandhas, relax your legs, head and shoulders. Focus on your face and neck. You will eventually become really good at massaging your face and neck but it might feel a little
awkward at first. This is a gift to yourself. You are practicing concentration, DHARANA which is the 6th limb of yoga. The aim of DHARANA is to focus and discipline the mind in order to move into a meditativve state.
Gently rub the oil into your hands,
if it feels good keep going with them (maybe massage your feet too!) Then into your face and neck adding more oil if needed.
Starting with the back of the neck, gently rub the oil from the base up into your scalp.
5 strokes for each position.
Gently rub the oil from the collar bone up to your chin. RT side and then LT side.
Cup your hand and place your palm so the chin sits in the cupped area and smooth along your jaw. LT and RT.
With your finger tips make small circles upwards
and outwards all over your face. Softening and smoothing.
With your finger tips gently pinch and squeeze your outer ear and then little circles at the back of your ears.
With your fingers tips massage your scalp using big or small circles, focus
on what feels good.
Now move to the back of your neck again and gently smooth both hands down from your scalp to your shoulders.
Finally using your fingers use small circles around your shoulder joints.
It is best to wash off the oil afterwards
as toxins can be reabsorbed into the skin. Gently rub with a clean damp cloth.
Good Carbohydrates Go Bananas
Bananas are high in carbohydrates. They are an excellant energy food
that is low in calories. They are high in potassium which is excellant for muscles including your heart. Potassium is also important for bone health. The low organic sodium and high potassium promotes alkaline conditions essential for healing and proper calcium
absorption. (Milk is low in pottassium and should not be considered good for bone health unless combined with other potassium rich foods)
Bananas contain serotonin and norepinephrine and these natural hormones reduce depression.
Pectin in bananas
helps reduce cholesterol levels.
Plus they supply iron, chlorine, sulphur and bromine all essential for your skin, blood and glandular system.
If you have a digestive problem or lack energy ask yourself when you last ate a banana.
