The philosophies teach us how to live a happier more fulfilling life
The asanas or exercises teach us how to keep our bodies healthy
The meditation and relaxation practices teach us how to keep our
minds calm and focused.
The photos were taken in my garden and kitchen in Bensville and all the fruit and veggies were a bumper harvest.
A Little About Me
I have been practicing yoga for more than 15 years now and it
has gradually been changing my life.
I used to work as a Radiographer here on the Coast. The focus was on illness rather than health and I found my job unfulfilling although well paid.
When I had my first child I studied Herbal Medicine
at home. I enjoyed it so much.
I began my learning circle.
I now have qualifications in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Childrens Yoga, Herbal Medicine, Aryurvedic Medicine, Food Therapy, Iridology and Thought Field Therapy
have loved every minute of my studying and have spent the last 21 years nurturing my children, growing veggies, looking after my chooks, practicing yoga and meditation.
My children are growing up fast and 5 years ago I decided I wanted to be a
yoga teacher. My 50th Birthday was spent at a teacher training at Byron Yoga Centre.
After receiving my 200 hr teacher training certificate, I rang Empire Bay Hall and have been running classes Mondays. I love it!
I am adding to this page
three years later. I have completed 100 hours Yin Teacher Training with my Health Yoga. I have organised, taught and cooked for 5 yoga retreats at Patonga and also taught at other retreats around the coast.
I also love to teach workshops, yoga,
meditation, herbal medicine, ayurvedic medicine, the chakras and iridology. They are all connected. Good Health and How To Achieve It.
My Radiography training has helped me in many ways. My anatomy knowledge in different positions has helped me
teach many students how to practice well and safely. I realised this at the Teacher Training Course. I am a better Yoga Teacher because of this knowledge.
My classes are a mix of ages, a mix of levels. The positions or asanas can easily
be adapted, beginning in the gentle option and then teaching the more intermediate/advanced students how to deepen their practice. It's amazing seeing how everyone is progressing.
Some positions may never be safe for those with injuries.
The gentle yoga and relaxation class on Mondays 8.15 - 9.15 am is a class suitable for everyone and often students from the regular classes will come along.
The classes are casual and friendly with time to chat before and after but not
during class, when inward focus and concentration is needed.
Yoga has given me strength, flexibility, confidence, fitness, a strong core, inner calmness (although I still need to work on this one!) A fulfilling and rewarding job.
